Saleh Hassan Faris in Casablanca, 2008
Recently the theatre group of Saleh Hassan Faris played on the IIIrd Festival de théâtre professionel Amazigh de Casablanca, Morocco. It turned out to be an excellent opportunity to meet with other theatre makers from Europe and the Middle East, to exchange ideas and to make new plans. Saleh Hassan Faris presented his play 'Where is there?' in the Arabic version. Intertwining physical theatre, Iraqi contemporary poetry and multimedia the play powerfully presents the inner quest of the exiled artist and his voyage between 'here' and 'there'. The performance raised an emotional and enthusiastic response in Morocco, as it had done in The Netherlands. For days drama students came to discuss contemporary theatre making. The festival was a valuable experience for both the group as the public and the group thanks the Dutch Embassy in Morocco for their support.
